A child was killed Saturday night in a deadly accident in Cobb County.
According to the Smyrna Public Information Officer, Darren Curry was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of Windy Hill Road in Smyrna when he struck another vehicle.
According to authorities, an 8-month-old infant, who was in a car seat not installed properly, was killed.
A dog in the car was also killed.
A 3-year-old child, also in the car, was taken to Kennestone Hospital with severe head trauma, according to police.
A woman, Wykenia Harris, 7-year-old child and Curry were all taken to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle, Jose Diaz, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say none of the kids in the car were properly restrained in a car seat or seat belt.
Curry was charged with DUI and vehicular homicide. Other charges are pending.
