TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A fire completely destroyed a building on the 3900 block of E Fort Lowell last night.

Tucson Fire Department responded to the scene at 10:34 p.m. and they found that the second floor of the building was on fire. Fire fighters were able to extinguish the flames, but the building was deemed a "total loss," according to Tucson Fire Captain Barrett Baker.

Investigators say the fire started after someone placed recently used firewood against the side of the building. The wood had not fully extinguished and it burned under the stucco wall and through the actual framework of the building.

No one was injured and Red Cross was not needed, but the total estimated damages have yet to be determined.
