ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The city of Atlanta said it has begun the process of removing excess salt and other debris from major roads as a result of last week's winter storm.

The city said it will start with Peachtree Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Authorities ask that drivers not park on the street after 8 p.m. this week, which will allow crews to properly sweep the excess material.

Crews will sweep the streets in residential areas during the day and business areas at night.

To report a street needing attention, call 404-330-6333 or send an email to publicworks@atlantaga.gov.
