Atlanta police arrest police impersonator; ask victims to come forward

Posted: Updated:

Atlanta Police say they have arrested a police impersonator.

According to authorities, a man was approached by another man impersonating an officer on Feb. 3.

Police say the suspect demanded the victim give him money, or else be arrested for being in the country illegally.

According to police, the victim thought the suspect was in fact with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and complied after the suspect produced handcuffs and attempted to make a fake arrest.

Atlanta Police ask that you contact them at 404-658-7055 if you were a victim of this crime.
