DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A DeKalb County grand jury indicted two people Thursday for leaving three of the woman's four children unsupervised in a barricaded room with a space heater.

Angel Johnson and Keith Pinkney left Johnson's 2, 3 and 4-year-old children unsupervised in a Stone Mountain apartment complex on December 10, 2010.

Firefighters were called to the Marquis Chase Apartments on Ashley Place in DeKalb County that night about 11 p.m. after the space heater caused a fire which led to the death of two of the three children.

"Anytime there is a loss of young life, it is a tragic situation. We will do our best to see that justice is done in this case," said District Attorney Robert James.

Johnson and her boyfriend at the time, Pinkney, are facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, second-degree cruelty to children and making false statements.
