Fire damaged a number of businesses in the historic downtown of Clarkesville, Georgia, early Thursday morning.
Firefighers responded to a fire at the Sweet Breads Cafe on East Water Street around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Flames swept from the restaurant to the back of businesses which faced Washington Street.
The Sweet Breads Cafe posted an emotional reaction on its Facebook page overnight:
We are heartbroken at the devastation tonight in Clarkesville and the loss our community has experienced tonight. Our prayers go out to everyone, especially those who have directly been touched by this tragedy.
The fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
