Two areas of low pressure will sweep through Atlanta over the next day and a half, according to CBS46 Meteorologist Jim Loznicka. The end result is more rain, and it will be heavy at times.
Right now, the CBS46 Weather Team is anticipating only rain, although a little snow and sleet could be mixed in late Thursday night across northeast Georgia. But, with air temperatures and ground temperatures above freezing, accumulation should not be an issue.
As for rain, most of us will see anywhere from a half-inch to an inch before the rain ends midday Friday. A few cities south of the metro area will see upwards of 2". And even though the rain could become briefly heavy, flooding is not a concern as it falls over a longer period of time.
Stay with CBS46 throughout the day for the latest on our wet forecast, and be sure to check out Chief Meteorologist Markina Brown starting at 4 p.m. for your weekend weather.
