Cleveland businessman and former mayoral candidate Ken Lanci paid the medical bills for two strangers while on vacation in the Dominican Republic last month.
Lanci tells 19 Action News that he and his wife went to a private clinic after she became very ill with food poisoning.
While there, the Lanci's learned the clinic required payment up front.
While in line, Lanci met a woman from Pittsburgh who was crying because her husband needed emergency surgery and she didn't have enough money on her Visa.
Lanci paid for the emergency surgery and the husband survived.
Then, a Canadian man needed lung medicine and he wasn't able to pay for it up front, so Lanci paid for that, too.
The couple and the man have since paid Lanci back.
