Hancock County Sheriff's Investigators say drugs that may have lead to the death of a Lizana woman. The man who drove a dead woman to the emergency room Tuesday morning has admitted to investigators he'd been using drugs the night before.
Authorities say he drove 22-year-old Kristen Cuevas to the ER at Hancock Medical Center around 6am. The man went inside to ask the medical staff for help getting Cuevas out of his vehicle. After that, authorities say the man took off, leaving the woman's body outside the hospital.
Sheriff's officials are awaiting the results of an autopsy and toxicology report to find out the exact cause of Cuevas' death.
"We don't know really what the cause of death was. There were not any signs of overt trauma from a physical fight, or physical abuse, or a gun shot, or stabbing, or anything like that," Hancock County Chief Investigator Glenn Grannan said. "So right now, it's undetermined. Of course, it's pending an autopsy and toxicology. It could be drugs involved, an overdose of some sort."
Authorities are not releasing the name of the man they questioned, and he has not been charged with anything.
