Winter still looks to hold firm the rest of this week as the calendar inches closer to the start of spring. So, don't put those jackets and gloves away just yet. A few more freezes still dot our long-range forecast, including tonight and again Thursday night.
Right now, a freeze watch is in effect for all of the CBS 46 viewing area. Essentially, any small plants or vegetables that have been budding or blooming recently will need immediate protection from the cold. Pets will want to have a warm place too, as lows will dip as cold as the mid-20s in extreme north Georgia. Make sure the kids have their cold weather gear at the bus stop on Thursday as well.
This latest cold snap should last a few days, with a slight warm up as we enter the weekend. Make sure to check out Chief Meteorologist Markina Brown's forecast starting at 4 p.m. on CBS 46 for the very latest on any additional watches or warnings.
