Several Atlantans met before work Monday morning for what's becoming a St. Patrick's Day tradition: a big, Irish breakfast at Fado Irish Pub followed by a pint of Guinness beer.

The Buckhead eatery is in its fifth year at its new location on Buckhead Avenue, where it's surrounded by soon-to-be completed high-rise condominiums and office buildings.

"We're pretty unique in the pub business that we have our own Fado-branded meat label, so our pork sausages, our rashers, our black and white pudding is Fado labeled," said General Manager Colm Reilly.

Reilly, a native of Ireland, enjoys visiting with the pub's regular customers, many of them who are of Irish descent.

"They have a story. 'My grandmother came over on a boat,' that sort of thing, you know. I came over on a plane," he said with a laugh.

Occasionally, a first-time customer will ask him where the green beer is.

"I'm like, 'No one drinks green beer in Ireland. So why would you drink it over here?' You just don't do it," he said. "You drink Guinness the way it's meant to be served."

Reilly said he expects the restaurant to be busy late into the evening.
