DEKALB COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

A search is underway for the shooter who killed a teenager overnight on Glenwood Road.

Mourning family members spoke with CBS46 at the scene. They identified the victim as 18-year-old Quantavius Armstrong. He was shot a number of times. The teen was shot once in the head and twice in the chest, according to family members.

Armstrong was shot in a parking lot off Glenwood Road in Decatur around 11 p.m. Wednesday. DeKalb County police interviewed witnesses at the scene. Investigators told CBS46 the fatal shooting was a result of an ongoing feud between Armstrong and the shooter.

Armstrong's aunt told CBS46 that he was like a son to her.

"He was a joker of the family. He always had something funny to say to make you laugh," Markia Armstrong said.

The family said Armstrong had committed himself to returning to school. They said his future was bright until this shooting took his life.

"My nephew didn't deserve that, not at all," said Dexter Armstrong, who is the victim's uncle.

Teddy bears and candles formed a makeshift memorial at the shooting scene.

The homicide remains under investigation.
