Dekalb County officials stand up against cyber bullying.
They held a safety forum Thursday night in Decatur at the South Dekalb police precinct. Officers talked with families about sexting, cyber bullying prevention and Internet safety.
Parents who brought their students said having the conversation was extremely important.
"So, they'll know what to do when confronted with issues such as bullying and cyber sexting, as well as knowing it's a crime and there's penalties against such behaviors," said Diane Lambert, who works with a Girl Scouts troop.
Superior Court Clerk Debra Deberry hosted the event. "The last estimate I saw there are 27,000 online predators. We have to protect our kids," said Deberry.
