Publix Georgia Marathon Health & Fitness Expo kicks off

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The Publix Georgia Marathon Health and Fitness Expo kicked off at Noon Friday.

Along with race number and race packet pick-up, the expo features retailers, personal trainers, nutritionists and other health professionals.

There will also be great bargains on running and fitness gear, free sampling and information on equipment and nutrition. The expo focuses on the health, fitness and wellness of endurance athletes.

In addition, there will be areas of interest including "The Georgia Experience" featuring attractions, products and services of Georgia.

CBS46 is a proud sponsor of the race and we will be there giving you a chance to forecast the weather like CBS46 Meteorologist Markina Brown.

The expo is located in Building A of the Georgia World Congress Center in Exhibit Hall A2.

The closest parking for Building A is the Red Deck, but participants and visitors are encouraged to take MARTA. The closest MARTA Station is the Dome/GWCC/Phillips/CNN Station. Visit www.itsmarta.com for more information on station locations and schedules.

Expo Dates & Hours

  • Friday, March 21: Noon to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 22: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The big race connected to the expo is Sunday. The marathon and half marathon will start that morning at 7 a.m. The 5K starts at 7:30 a.m.

The start and finish lines are at Centennial Olympic Park.

More than 16,000 runners are expected to take part.
