Ask any student or alum on Mercer University's campus in Macon and they will tell you, they are going to win NCAA Championship.
In their first tournament appearance in 29 years, the 14 seed knocked off number 3, Duke.
"They got beat, they didn't lose, they got beat," Mercer student Tony Bernardo said. "Because, guess what, they underrated Mercer."
Students celebrated in the streets of Mercer Village all day Friday. Many, now finding ways to get tickets to Sunday's game against Tennessee. Last year, at the NIT tournament the Bears knocked the Volunteers out of the first round of the tournament. It is a win then, they hope to recreate again.
"If they can knock off Duke, they can definitely beat a team they have already beaten," Evan Burchette said.
Mercer University is a private university with their main campus in Macon. They are known for their academics, but now, students say basketball is one of the highest priorities on their list.
"It is a little school in the middle of Macon, only school in Georgia to make it," John Garrett Abernathy said. "It is awesome, I don't think the state of Georgia could've asked for a better school to make it."
Mercer will take on number 11 seed Tennessee on Sunday.
