According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Jimmy Dimora has been moved to Victorville Medium II FCI, a California medium security prison.
The former Cuyahoga County Commissioner is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for numerous corruption charges.
It's not clear at this time why Dimora, 58, was transferred to California.
Earlier this month, lawyers for Dimora appealed his case in Cincinnati. Dimora's lawyer argued in federal court that any gifts or discounts he got were listed on his ethics report and therefore legal. It is a report Judge Sarah Lioi refused to allow at his trial.
Dimora's claim is that if the jury had seen his list, it would have exonerated him.
