An Athens man was arrested Tuesday after he punched his stepdaughter's boyfriend when he caught them in the shower together.

Athens-Clarke County police responded to a call from Clinton Antonio Ward, who said he had caught teens, both 16, inside his Creek Stone Drive apartment.

Ward told police he got home and sat down on the couch. He heard his stepdaughter in the bathroom talking. He thought maybe she was on the phone but then he heard a male voice.

Ward said he waited in the living room until they came out of the bathroom.

According to the 16-year-old girl, when she saw him she knew she was in trouble.

She was in a towel and her boyfriend was completely naked.

Ward pushed the girl to the side, grabbed the boyfriend and told him to get his stuff and get out. He then started hitting him in the chest and face.

The boy's mother asked that charges be pressed against Ward.

Ward was arrested on charges of battery and cruelty to children for maliciously causing a child under the age of 18 cruel, excessive or mental pain and for allowing a child under the age of 18 to witness a battery.
