Forsyth County Sheriff's deputies looking for department store peeping Tom

Posted: Updated:

There was a big commotion at the Belk department store in Cumming on Saturday afternoon.

"A young lady came rushing up with a child in the stroller and said, 'did you see him, did you see him?' And we were like, 'see who?' 'The man that was peeking under dressing room doors,'" said Suellen Daniels.

Forsyth County sheriff's deputies released still pictures of the man investigators are calling a peeping Tom.

"There were so many people because it was kids' day. There were parents everywhere with children that were in there doing all kinds of things like fashion shows and everything, and this guy was in there in the middle of all that," said Daniels.

"What type of person does that? Honestly, there were kids there, adults, grandparents. Why?" asked Hannah Mathley.

Deputies said the suspect ran out of the store when he was confronted by another shopper. The incident has many customers concerned about their privacy.

"You feel like your privacy is being invaded and you don't want to change in public again," said Mathley.

The suspect is in his mid-to-late 30s, at least 6' tall, with short brown hair and weighs about 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing jeans, flip-flops and a dark, hooded sweatshirt with a blue bandana. He had a silver bracelet on his left wrist.

Investigators aren't sure how he got away. There is no description of a getaway car.
