Dog lovers are expected to fill Centennial Olympic Park Friday and Saturday for the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge.
It's a canine athletic competition, which has been featured on shows like Late Night with David Letterman and the CBS Early Show. It features athletic dogs competing in categories such as agility, freestyle disc and dog diving.
"It's just like an Olympic long jump," said Lourdes Edlin, one of the judges. "The dogs are jumping into 16,000 gallons of water."
Friday is qualifying day, where participants compete to try to earn a spot in Saturday's Eastern Competition.
"It's free admission. You can come out and bring your dog. It's a lot of fun," said Edlin.
Saturday's event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"We're having a lot of expert resources out here," said Edlin. "We have trainers, we have people from the area, so if they want to get tips, maybe get involved in some of these sports, maybe bring your dog out, maybe it inspires them."
