Golf fan attends Masters Tournament for first time

    The Columbia County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help identifying two women wanted for shoplifting at the Grovetown Walmart. At around 4:10 p.m. on Feb. 6, 2018, the two women pictured in this article failed to scan the items in their cart at self check-out and left the store.

    Grovetown Public Safety is investigating a burglary and shooting that happened in the Ashland Commons subdivision. Authorities were able to respond and arrive on the scene within minutes of the 911 call and begin an active investigation with Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

    A Richmond County Deputy was working a special duty assignment at the Country Club Nightclub on Washington Road when he observed an altercation inside. The deputy observed a male subject punch another subject in the face. That subject was later identified to be off-duty Richmond County Deputy Thomas Andrews.

Augusta National Golf Club (WFXG) -

Almost every golf fan can agree that getting the chance to attend the Masters Tournament is a dream come true.

Two diehard golf fans who actually make a living as photographers at various PGA Tour events are in Augusta this week for the Masters. But this tournament isn't one they get the chance to attend very often.

Terri Thompson and Susan Pankau own In Focus Sports Photography based in Savannah. They are both lifelong friends of Phil Mickelson and follow him to various tournaments across the country.

They average about nine to 10 events a year, but for Pankau, today marked her first time at the Masters. She says all the photos, the images on TV and the stories she's heard don't even begin to do Augusta National justice.

"I don't think I slept last night I was so excited," Pankau said. "It's a beautiful spot, the people are awesome. It's just a great day."

Both women say the crowds at Augusta National are on another level as well, and they hope to be back very soon.
