Not all neighbors welcome Spring Fling carnival back to UA campus

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Spring Fling is back on the University of Arizona campus this year for the first time in 15 years, but not everyone is happy about it.

Some of the neighbors around UA campus say it is too loud and disruptive, but some students are glad it's back on campus.

UA senior Angela Lester said she never made it out to Spring Fling in years past because it was too far.

"This is my first year going because it was so far away," Lester said Friday. "So it being on campus is a lot closer, so I'm able to be here and I'm really excited."

Organizers fought to bring it back to campus to get more students to come out. About 25,000 people attended Spring Fling in 2013. This year, organizers are hoping to surpass that number.

There are some changes to the schedule for Spring Fling 2014. They are open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday to cut down on noise for neighboring commonalities.
