MARIETTA, GA (CBS46) -

A Sandy Springs road had to close Tuesday afternoon due to a fallen tree.

According to Sandy Springs police, the 6900 block of Riverside Drive between River North Court and Breakwater was closed during the afternoon and early evening, impacting traffic.

In addition, two people were injured Tuesday afternoon after a tree fell on a house in Marietta, according to a representative with Cobb County. CBS46 Chopper showed part of the tree on top of a house in the 2100 block of Sugar Creek Dr.

A tree also fell on a car earlier Tuesday in Atlanta.

The trees and branches are falling due to strong winds.  A wind advisory was in effect for Atlanta during the day Tuesday due to sustained winds of more than 25 mph.
