While one Marietta family may have just welcomed their newest addition, they've already received some money to help pay for his college education.
Little David Reese was born to proud parents David and Michelle McGinnis at 1:02 a.m. on April 15 at Northside Hospital. He was recognized as the Path2College 529 Plan 'Tax Day Baby.' This honor came with a check for $1,529 dollars to go towards his college savings.
"College is very important, especially these days, and every dollar helps," said David McGinnis. "We were not expecting this, but are very happy to give him a head start for college."
Path2College also kicked-off their annual Newborn Sweepstakes today. One lucky Georgia baby born this year will win $5,529 toward their college savings. The hospital where the child is born will also get a prize of $1,529.
If you're interested in entering your child or grandchild in the contest, visit www.Path2College529.com for officials rules. The deadline to enter is April 14, 2015.
