Pedestrian hit, killed by car in Kennesaw

KENNESAW, GA (CBS46) -

A person is dead after they were struck by a car in Kennesaw on Wednesday morning.

A tan 2006 Ford Taurus was traveling in the right lane on southbound Cobb Parkway, south of Mack Dobbs Road.

The pedestrian, a 46-year-old from Kennesaw, was walking southbound on Cobb Parkway, south of Mack Dobbs Road.

The pedestrian was walking on the roadway and was struck by the Ford.

Police said the pedestrian should have been walking on the improved grass shoulder which provides safety for pedestrian traffic and which is required by law,

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Ford Taurus did not suffer any injuries as a result of the collision.

No charges are expected to be filed.

Police have not released the name or gender of the person hit.
