Lane closed on 285 over Easter weekend

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Drivers in the Metro area will get a little bit of a break over the Easter holiday weekend.

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Thursday one left lane on Interstate 285 northbound in Dekalb County will be closed. The stretch will go from Interstate 20 to State Route 400 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday. This will be the only daytime lane closure.

"With only that one closure on I-285, everyone should have an easier time getting to their destinations, whether it is church on Sunday, going to grandma's house or just to get out and enjoy the nice weekend," said District Construction Engineer Shun Pringle.

Overnight, three right lanes will be closed on I-20 westbound from Wesley Chapel Road to Candler Road so crews can work on striping.

Two left lanes on I-285 northbound in Dekalb County from I-20 to Peachtree Dunwoody Road will also be closed overnight this weekend for barrier wall placement.

All planned construction is weather permitting.
