Grammy award winning artist surprises abducted boy at town hall meeting

Parents met at a southwest Atlanta church on Thursday to see what can be done to find a man who abducted a 10-year-old boy.

"I don't want anyone to feel that, not even my enemy," said Coddetta Batman, mother of Willie Myrick, the boy abducted.

Police told parents all of their resources are being used to find Willie Myrick's abductor.

"You do not pick up a 9-year-old child who is not yours, drive them around for three hours with good intentions," said Derrick Boazman, an activist.

During the meeting friends and community leaders celebrated Willie Myrick's birthday and used the event to talk about the growing problem.

Willie Myrick said he sang a song while in the abductor's car, a song which was recorded by Grammy Award Winner Hezekiah Walker,  who traveled from New York to meet Willie Myrick.

"Not in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that I would put a song out that a 9-year-old child would be singing. And you know that goes to show you the power behind inspirational music," said Walker.
