Henry County police have arrested two people in connection to a robbery gone wrong that left one man dead.
Officers were called to a home on Highland Drive in McDonough at around 2 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found the body of Michael Raymond Patton, 45, inside the home where he lived. He had been shot in the head.
Police arrested 49-year-old Joseph Franklin Norris and charged him with murder. Also taken into custody was Tonia Lynn Gantt, 44. Gantt lived at the home with Patton and was hit in the head with a blunt object during the incident. She was charged with murder and possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.
According to police, Gantt conspired with Norris to set up a robbery, which led to Patton being shot.
Both Norris and Gantt were taken to the Henry County Jail.
