ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Police in Peachtree City posted a photo of a man, suspected of swiping wallets from a local gym, on their Facebook and Twitter pages.

They say the social media sharing helped them get a positive identification of the man by a person living out of state. He is identified as Brian Gordon, 40, of Kansas City, MO.

Police say Gordon stole two wallets from lockers at the World Gym in Peachtree City. He then reportedly used one to make a small purchase at a gas station in Newnan. Gordon then allegedly racked up nearly $3,000 in charges on the second credit card at a nearby Best Buy.

According to police, Gordon is a corporate chef who travels from state to state. He is wanted in at least three states for similar crimes.

Gordon is wanted by Peachtree City police for multiple felony counts of financial identity theft. If you have any information about Gordon's whereabouts, call Peachtree City police at 770-487-8866.
