Deputies increase patrols after man brings legal gun into park

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Deputies said they increased patrols at Fowler Park in Cumming after parents reported a man carrying a gun, Wednesday.

"I don't want somebody carrying around a gun where kids are going to be playing," said Brittany Lakomika, a parent.

Authorities said the man had a permit to carry the gun, so he has the legal right to carry it in the park without concealing it.

"If there was somebody else being crazy with a gun and he would be … protecting us then fine," said Lakomika.

Authorities said they do not have a deputy assigned to the park. They said they will do increased patrols, as long as, there is an issue.
