The gloves came off at a Metro-Atlanta church that turned its sanctuary into a real life fight club.
Six fighters took to the ring Friday night just steps from the New Season Church in Hiram. One of those fighters, Shannon Chambers said his purpose was to help win souls for Christ.
"This is my journey God has put me on to bring men to Christ," said Chambers. "I wasn't a member of this church until a year ago, wasn't saved until just before Christmas, and He spoke to me and told me this is what I was supposed to do."
Steve Flockhart is the pastor of New Season Church. He said the idea to hold a Mixed Martial Arts or MMA style fight came to him a year ago.
Flockhart and other church leaders hope to hold more events like this in the future to get people to church.
