A strong storm system across the Florida Gulf Coast will roll by just to the southeast of Atlanta during the day and help trigger some local gusty winds. That storm has triggered a Wind Advisory for the metro area until midday on Wednesday.
Trees have been reported down in Troup and Morgan counties, Conyers, and Atlanta. In Southeast Atlanta, trees took down power lines on Browns Mill Road at Mt. Zion as well as on Ward Drive.
Wind gusts, mainly south of Atlanta, will help topple more trees and cause a few more power outages. Most of the wind will subside by 3pm, as the storm moves far enough away through the eastern Carolinas.
As for the forecast, outside of the wind, expect a mostly cloudy and damp day. Your chance of rain is at 60 percent, with some isolated river and creek flooding still possible as water runoff increases.
