GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Police have now identified a body found Saturday morning in the Chattahoochee River as 56-year-old Gee Hang.

Authorities were called Saturday morning after a boater reported seeing someone in the river.

"My buddy said that looks like a body over there, and we eased over in the boat and noticed that it was," said Brandon Davis.

Water rescue teams responded to the 911 call and were searching for the person near Abbotts Bridge Park along the river in Gwinnett County.

"It looked to be a female. You could see a tattoo on her back. Her shirt was kind of bunched up to here," said Davis.

Davis said they were the first boaters to arrive and believes Hang's was placed there after they arrived.

"Her shoes were not on. I could see her head down in the water with no movement," said Davis.

Davis said the woman was not dressed as a person would be if they were there fishing.

"(She) had on designer-looking jeans so we knew it wasn't someone here fishing," said Davis.

If you have information which would be helpful to officers you are asked to call the Johns Creek Police Department at 678-474-1610.
