TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

TODAY'S MOST...Wonderful story of a dog saving a little boy: A search party found 3-year old Carson Urness sleeping underneath his dog Cooper at 2am on Tuesday night. The duo had been missing for hours. The dog stayed with Carson, kept him warm and made sure he was OK throughout the night.

Carson wandered away with Cooper at some point on Tuesday. His mom says she got worried when she called her son for dinner on their family farm and he never came. When she also called for Cooper and he didn't come either, she figured they were together.

She called 911, and eventually 200 volunteers searched about 2,000 acres trying to find him. Finally, after about six hours, a firefighter noticed him. He was face down, and the dog was on top of him.

Courtney says her son told her on Wednesday, "Mom, I was really scared...But Cooper laid on me. He kept me warm."

It just so happens the Urness family saved Cooper's life as well. They found him on the side of the road and adopted him.
