PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - An animal care worker is undergoing surgery at St. Mary's Medical Center after being bitten by a dog scheduled to be euthanized Wednesday, said Capt. Dave Walesky, spokesman for Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control.
The woman "was bitten severely in the leg," Walesky said.
The dog was in quarantine at the animal shelter after biting two people, Walesky said. Because of his behavior, a decision had been made to euthanize the American Staffordshire Terrier.
The dog was euthanized after the incident.
The woman is expected to be alright.
