Certified organic farm Gaia Gardens in Decatur will host a festival Sunday aimed at drawing people away from fast food and toward "slow food."

The event, called Bazaar Bizzaro, will feature live music, treats from local restaurants and family-friendly activities. It serves as a fundraiser for Slow Food Atlanta, a nonprofit organization founded to counteract fast food and people's dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how food choices affect the rest of the world.

Participating restaurants include Farm Burger, Wrecking Bar Brewpub, King of Pops and Chai Pani. Live entertainment includes performances by Infinity Circus Productions, an Atlanta-based cirque-style group of aerialists and acrobats, and music from local acoustic bands including Gentleman Jesse, Lily and the Tigers, Anchor Bends, Hello Ocho, Adron, Liminal Space and Ishcabittle. Traditional fair games, tractor rides, tug-of-war and other family-friendly activities will take place throughout the afternoon, along with a Slow Food snail photo booth, face painting, cupcake walks, radish races and psychic readings from Summer.

Bazaar Bizzaro will take place Sunday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Gaia Gardens, located at 900 Dancing Fox Rd., Decatur, Georgia 30032.
