Dozens of Fort Stewart soldiers celebrated Armed Forces Day with seniors on Saturday.
The "Soldiers of Fortune" Motorcycle Club gathered at the Oceanside/Savannah Beach Nursing and Rehab Center, in recognition of Armed Forces Day and National Nursing Home Week. The center is a skilled nursing facility that services retired military and the elderly.
Organizers say they want to show soldiers, who have served overseas and in pervious times of conflict, that they care.
"A lot of times, folks are brought to nursing homes and they have a bad stigma about folks not really caring about them, but we want to show a strong presence that we do care about them, and we do love them," said Harvey Watson, Jr., Rehab Manager, Oceanside/Savannah Beach Nursing & Rehab Center.
National Nursing Home Week is a time-honored tradition, which celebrates the dedication of nursing and all support services.
