ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The wet weather did not stop thousands from coming out to support autism research in the 'Walk Now for Autism Speaks' event in Atlanta.

More than 10,000 attendees came out to the event, which was held in Atlantic Station.

CBS46's own Annalee Penny welcomed walkers to the event, and joined them in a dance warm up.

Also in attendance was Bernie Marcus, co-founder of The Home Depot, and Georgia Lt. Governor Casey Cagle.

More than $420,000 has been raised so far for Autism Speaks.
