ATHENS, GA (CBS46) -

A woman was killed overnight in a fire at an Athens hotel, according to Athens-Clarke County police.

She has now been identified as Anita Dantzer Watson, 34 of Bogart.

Fire broke out around 1 a.m. at the America's Best Inn and Suites on Atlanta Highway.

Firefighters went door to door warning hotel guests about the fire. That's when they discovered Watson's body in a guest room.

An autopsy is being done on the victim's remains at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab.

One man has been arrested. Police have charged Richard McGaha, 34 of Bogart, with criminal damage to property in the second degree.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
