Police search for shooter in overnight murder in Gwinnett County

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA (CBS46) -

Gwinnett County police are trying to figure out who fatally shot a man at a home near Snellville early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded at about 1 a.m. to the home on Haynes Circle, off Centerville-Rosebud Road, south of Snellville.

The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Antonio Macklin of Lithonia. Gwinnett County police spokesman Cpl. Edwin Ritter says Macklin was known to sell drugs and believes robbery may be the motive in the shooting.

Witnesses told police two to three men wearing dark camouflage entered the home armed with guns. They began fighting with Macklin and one of the suspects pulled the trigger, killing the Macklin. The suspects then fled the scene.

Police are asking anyone with any information about this case to call investigators at 770-513-5300.
