Man suspected of killing ex-girlfriend's boyfriend captured in Alabama

A man suspected of shooting and killing his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend has been taken into custody.

According to a spokesperson with Fairburn police, Terry B. Marshall was taken into custody in Valley, Alabama.  Marshall will be extradited back to Georgia and charged with murder and aggravated assault.

Around 11:45 p.m. Monday, Fairburn police responded to the 4000 block of the Harbor Lakes apartments in reference to a person shot.

On arrival, officers found Latonia Patterson, 53, and Marshal Tucker, 48, inside an apartment.

Tucker appeared to be shot and was pronounced dead at the scene. Patterson sustained a gunshot wound and was treated at a hospital.

Police identified Marshall, 44, as the shooter.

Marshall is Patterson's ex-boyfriend and was believed to reside in Valley, AL.

Police said Marshall was jealous over Patterson's new boyfriend.
