Southwest Airlines now allowing mobile boarding passes in Atlanta

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Southwest Airlines announced that its mobile boarding pass can now be used at Atlanta's airport, the busiest in the world.

If you're a southwest flyer, you can now use the mobile boarding pass at security checkpoints and at your gate.

Southwest said mobile boarding passes were made available in Atlanta after successful trail runs in Austin, Houston and Dallas.

Southwest also offers the use of mobile boarding passes at the following airports:

  • ABQ - Albuquerque
  • ATL - Atlanta
  • AUS - Austin
  • BWI - Baltimore/Washington
  • BUR - Burbank
  • MDW - Chicago Midway
  • DAL - Dallas Love Field
  • DEN - Denver
  • FLL - Ft. Lauderdale
  • RSW - Ft. Myers
  • HOU - Houston Hobby
  • MCI - Kansas City
  • LAS - Las Vegas
  • LAX - Los Angeles
  • MKE - Milwaukee
  • BNA - Nashville
  • MSY - New Orleans
  • OAK - Oakland
  • SNA - Orange County/Santa Ana
  • MCO - Orlando
  • PHL - Philadelphia
  • PHX - Phoenix
  • SMF - Sacramento
  • SAN - San Diego
  • SFO - San Francisco
  • SJC - San Jose
  • STL - St. Louis
  • TPA - Tampa

Southwest said the mobile boarding pass is not available if you're traveling on an AirTran-operated flight, or if you're flying internationally.

The airline joins several other major airlines who already allow mobile boarding passes in Atlanta, including Atlanta-based Delta.
