Animal shelter in need of volunteers following emergency

Posted: Updated:
ATLANTA (CBS46) -

The Fulton County Animal Control is asking for volunteers this Memorial Day weekend.

A spokesperson says their plumbing has backed up into their kennels, leaving behind a huge mess.

They're looking for helpers to come out Saturday to give them assist them with cleaning crates starting at 11:30 Saturday morning.

A team of staff and volunteers spent much of Friday cleaning off the dogs and putting together crates. The animals were moved to a bus borrowed from the Friends of DeKalb Animals until the plumbing issue is fixed.
