Police are trying to figure out who opened fire at a party at an apartment complex in Marietta early Wednesday morning, killing one man and wounding two more.
According to Officer David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Department, officers responded to The Dwell at 750 apartments at about 12:15 a.m. Witnesses told police that about four or five uninvited guests showed up at the party, prompting an argument. Officers believe at least one of the uninvited guests pulled out a gun and started shooting.
Bullets struck three men. Partygoers drove two of victims to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, the third was taken by ambulance. One of the victims did not survive. The other two are expected to survive their wounds.
The man who died has now been identified as 19-year-old Christopher Wilson of Marietta.
It was unclear if the shooters fled the scene.
"We're trying to sort out all the pieces right now," said Baldwin. "There was a large number of people that were here. A lot of them may be witnesses. The investigation is still very early."
Authorities have not released names of the victims or whether they've made any arrests.
