Woman killed in Gwinnett home, husband identified as suspect

Posted: Updated:

A woman was found shot to death in Gwinnett County early Wednesday morning and her husband is the main suspect in her killing.

She has now been identified as 30-year-old Melissa Kimsey.

Police were called to a home on Platinum Court in Hoschton about a woman being shot at about 4:30 a.m.

When police arrived, Kimsey was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Her 13-year-old daughter made the 911 call. She was not harmed.

Police said the woman's husband Rodney Kimsey II, 31, was acting erratically outside of a home a few doors down. He was taken into police custody and is considered the primary suspect in this case.

Gwinnett County police say they do not have any records of previous incidents between the couple.
