Special Olympics athletes to compete at Emory University this weekend

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

More than 1,600 Special Olympics athletes will participate in the 2014 State Summer Games this weekend at Emory University.

The athletes will compete in the categories that include aquatics, soccer, badminton, volleyball, tennis, gymnastics and table tennis. More than 600 coaches will be there to guide the athletes as they compete. More than 1,000 volunteers will be on hand.

The games are free and open to the public.
