ATLANTA (CBS46) -

A Spalding County judge has denied bond for a woman charged in the murder of a Griffin police officer.

Chantell Mixon, 28, is charged with felony murder along with Michael Dewayne Bowman, 30, in the death of Officer Kevin Jordan, 43.

Authorities say Bowman shot Jordan five times in the back as the officer tried to arrest Mixon early Saturday morning outside the Griffin Waffle House where Jordan worked a side job as a security guard. Mixon and Bowman were romantically involved, according to their Facebook pages.

The officer's brother, Raymond Jordan, happened to be visiting the officer at the Waffle House at the time of the shooting. He returned fire, police said, critically wounding Bowman. Bowman remains at Atlanta Medical Center in critical but stable condition. Raymond Jordan had a license to carry a weapon. He will not be charged, police said.

The officer's family is finalizing funeral arrangements. Check back with www.CBS46.com for updates.
