An 18-month-old boy hit by an alleged hit-and-run driver in Ellijay has now died from his injuries.

According to police, the baby identified as Noah Pinson and his father and older sister were leaving the Gilmer County River Park at about 9 p.m. Friday. Noah's father was putting the baby's stroller inside the family van as the little boy stood nearby.

The father told officers a car came rushing by and hit little Noah.

The driver has been identified Jordan Allen Hyde, 26 of Talking Rock. Charges against Hyde have now ben upgraded to first-degree homicide and DUI drugs.

Hyde had bonded out on the earlier charges. He was arrested again Sunday on the upgraded charges. He is now being held at the Gilmer County Detention Center without bond.
