A woman who was hit by a Gwinnett County van has now died.
The victim is identified as 66-year-old Rama Sriram.
Lawrenceville police are withholding the name of the driver until their investigation is complete but said he does work in the IT department for Gwinnett County.
Capt. Jeff Smith said they are looking into whether Sriram was hit in the crosswalk or another area of the four-way stop. Sriram was hit in the intersection of Langley Drive and Constitution Boulevard in Lawrenceville, near the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center.
According to Smith, there were no witnesses and they are relying heavily on accident investigators to determine a cause.
When crews arrived, they found Sriram on the ground and unresponsive. She was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Police could not release a lot of information but said it appears speed was not a factor.
