Haynes Bridge Road in Alpharetta reopened

ALPHARETTA, GA (CBS46) -

Traffic is back open on Haynes Bridge Road in Alpharetta after it was rerouted near Black Watch Lane.

The city notes the traffic signal is not yet functioning and officers are directing traffic.

Early Tuesday morning, a tractor-trailer struck electrical lines and the traffic signal at the intersection of Haynes Bridge Road and Black Watch Lane.

Georgia Power crews removed the electrical lines so that the tractor-trailer could be extricated and cleared from the scene. Crews then erected new power poles.

All southbound traffic on Haynes Bridge Road were detoured at Mansell Road. All northbound traffic were being forced to turn back at Thornberry Drive.

There were reports of gridlock on Old Alabama and Nesbitt Ferry Roads and surrounding secondary and neighborhood streets.
