JOHNS CREEK, GA (CBS46) -

Drivers passing through Johns Creek should expect delays as the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) began construction on an intersection project Wednesday.

The intersection in question is at the corner of Medlock Bridge and McGinnis Ferry roads and, according to a press release from GDOT, the construction will focus on extending the left-hand turn lane on Medlock Bridge Road by 300 feet.

Motorists should be advised construction will take place on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through the month of June and, possibly, July.

This construction will cause significant delays northbound on Medlock Bridge Road due to lane closures, according to GDOT.
